Is laser treatment safe?

Yes! Laser treatment is recognised as perfectly safe and our laser therapist has 10 years experience of laser and intense pulse light treatments.

Our laser centre currently uses the Cynosure elite Nd-Yag/Alexandrite laser.

Are there any precautions I should take before a laser treatment?

Before treatment it is important to make sure that any hair is cut flush with the skin. It is important that you do not expose yourself to the sun or sun beds for at least four weeks before treatment. If you have any signs of a suntan, we cannot treat you until it has faded. Fake tans should not be used for at least four weeks before treatment. A total sun block must be used at all times. Do not use Retin A, glycolic acid, perfumes or drugs such as Ibuprofen directly prior to treatment so as to reduce the risk of skin reaction. Client must notify the clinic of any changes in medical conditions, medications or pregnancy at least one week before treatment.

How many treatments do I need?

There is no general rule. The hair cycle of growth depends upon ethnicity, gender, position on the face or body and any medication. You will be given a rough estimate at the consultation.

How much will the treatment cost?

At consultation you will be advised how many treatments you will need and how much each will cost. In general, the cost of the treatment is determined by how many shots will be required and how long it will take. Most laser treatments start from £50.

What results can I expect?

Each treatment will result in a reduction of between 5% and 10% of the total hair population in the area and coarse hairs will become finer.

Does it hurt?

Laser treatments heat up the skin but the machine has an in-built cooling system, which will minimise discomfort during treatment.

Can I wear make-up after treatment?

Yes.

How do I get started?

A free consultation with one of our laser specialists will determine if you are suitable. for the treatment.

Is there anything I have to avoid after treatment?

For most treatments we recommend avoiding excessive heat such as sunbathing, saunas, steam rooms, kitchens, ironing or exercise for the following 24 hours.

What after-care will I need?

This depends on the treatment and ranges from using a healing gel and sun cream after hair removal to surgical spirit and sudocream after tattoo removal. In general, the cost of post-care treatment is less than the cost of a single treatment.
